Book review by Luke C

I read the Name of this Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch (which is not his real name.) It's about a survivalist girl named Cass and a boy named Max-Ernest. They find an old notebook and it turns out an evil organization wants it to help them find "the secret." To find out what happens, read the book!

I would rate this 8/10 because it has a funny narrator and lots of action, but can get confusing (at least for me.) It is a good book to people who like books with action, mystery, and humor.

Hatchet by Gary Paulson reviewed by Mr. McDonnell

A Newberry Winner
13 year old Brian's parents have just divorced and summer break has started. Brian flies in a small Cesna airplane from his mom's home in upstate NY to fly north into Canada to visit his dad for the summer. Proud of his brand new hatchet, a birthday gift, Brian straps it to his belt. In the air, the pilot has a heart attack. Brian safely lands the plane in a lake and swims to shore. But now he is alone in the wilderness. No one knows where he is and he doesn't know where he is either. All safety materials, including food, a radio and first aid kit are at the bottom of the lake in the plane. All Brian has to survive- to get food, fire and shelter are his hatchet and his wits.

This book is awesome. If you love adventure, nature, or books about human perseverance, you will love this book. The survival skills Brian learns by trial and error seem very realistic. Try this book, you won't be disappointed.

Rain Reign reviewed by Jessica E.

I read (red) Rain Reign by Ann Martin. The book follows a girl named Rose (rows) Howard who is obsessed with homonyms and therefore I use them throughout this book report. She is thrilled that her own name is a homonym and keeps a list of all the homonyms that she knows (nose). When Rose's dad finds a lost dog in a storm without a collar, Rose calls her Rain (rein, reign) and loves her like a sister.
Rose also has a problem. She has an official diagnosis of high-functioning autism, so she doesn't think like everyone else. Emotions are harder to (two, too) understand for (fore) her, many things make her angry, and she cheers people up with homonyms and prime numbers. Rain is the closest friendship that she has had in (inn) years, so Rose spends all of her time with her. Rain will never get mad, and has easy emotions to understand. So who will understand Rose when Rain gets lost in a hurricane without her collar? Or when they find Rain's original owners?
Rose's narrative voice is unique and powerful, as she talks about her view of the world. Her story is sad in parts, but of true friendship so pure that autism can't hide it.

The Shadow of the Tombs reviewed by Alek S

The Shadows of the Tombs is about a kid named Jack with his friends Aly and Cass to get seven Loculus which are in the seven wonders like Giza. They each have a power and the one they're getting is the Loculus of Healing. They have to get the Loculus because they need to make a cure for themselves. They have something called G7W which gives you a power but you would die at the age of fourteen and they are thirteen. They have a secret base that's called the KI which are the people who are trying to save but the island gets attacked by the Massa who are an evil group. Read the rest of the book to find out what happens.

I would give this book a 9 out of 10 because it keeps getting more intense for what's going to happen next and you don't want to stop reading. I would recommend it to people who like intense mysteries and action.

Hugh S's book report.

The book I read was called American Sniper. American Sniper is written by Chris Kyle himself. American Sniper is an autobiography about the most lethal sniper in history. It's about a man named Chris Kyle who becomes a navy seal and goes to Iran. There he goes to a place called falugih to fight. His tour ends and he goes home. When he gets home his wife taya gets pregnant. He then goes on a second tour before his baby is born and goes to a place called ramadi. There he fights and then goes home after it ends and gets taya pregnant again. Then goes back to Iraq to Baghdad and fights there. He then goes home and almost divorces Tanya, but doesn't. He then goes on his fourth and final trip back to Baghdad and almost gets shot. He then goes home and goes to live in Texas his home state. One day he goes to a shooting range with his friend and some other guy to shoot. When he was shooting the guy that was with him and his friend had a flash back from the army and shoots him and his friend.

I thought it was a really good book and I think it's a good book for people who like war books.

Al Capone Does my Shirts, Reviewed by Torin M

This book is about a kid who is coming up with a great plan to earn money with his friends, on Alcatraz. His name is Moose Flanagan, he lives on Alcatraz Island, where the convicts live. He has been living on the island for a long time, because his dad is an electrician on Alcatraz. What he wants to do is, get a lot of shirts from the kids at school, and make the convicts wash them for 5 cents. This was a great plan, it was going to work out great. If you want to find out if they are successful, then read Al Capone Does My Shirts.

I would rate this book a six out of ten, for me. But for other people it could be a 9/10 or a 3/10 or maybe even a 2/10. But I would give this book to people who love reading, or this could be for anybody.

Book review of Wizards Of The Game by Judea W

The book I read for my February book report was called Wizards of the Game. I would recommend it to someone who likes magic and mystery. The genre is a fiction, action/adventure and mystery type of book. It was not recommended by anyone, I found it in the class bookshelf. I would recommend this book to you though, it was not that good until near the end of the book though.

It starts out with a boy named Mercer that would face his sworn enemy, after the rest of the third period geography class. After that he rolls the dice and conquers a world in a game called Wizards Of The Warrior World. Mercer is in eighth grade and every study hall he plays Wizards Of The Warrior World. Then it becomes all too real for him.

When Perseus grows up he wants to slay medusa and bring a evil king medusas head so the king won't marry his mom. Will Perseus slay medusa or be turned to stone.

I absolutely LOVE this book!!! I would give it 10/10!!!!!! I think it is funny, gripping and even a little bit touching. I would suggest this book to anyone and everyone!!!!!! I think girls might enjoy this more than boys, but I don't think it really matters. And once again 10/10!!!!!!!!!!

Feed book review by Daniel S

The book I read is called Feed. It is a love story BUT it is not like a Romeo and Juliet thing is really interesting. It takes place in America way in the future. The main character is named Titus and he goes to the moon with his friends. He meets a girl named Violet there and it is love at first sight. One night on the moon they go to a nightclub and a hacker comes in and hacks into their feeds (feeds are like computer inside your head). They go to a hospital and the doctor takes Violet out and tells her something. Sometime later Violet gets news that she might die. There is much much more then just dying for her it is staying with Titus it is them having a good relationship.

I would rate this book a 10/10 because it was really deep. You really felt like you knew the characters and that you were apart of their world. It wasn't necessarily an edge of your seat book it was surely a book that you didn't want to put down.

Book Report blog report by Aaron L

The book Legend is about a boy named Day and a girl named June. In the book June is a rich person and Day is a peasant, they are both skilled in fighting and are insanely smart. This book also takes place in the future. June is hunting for Day in the book because he murdered her brother. June then comes across Day on her hunt for Day but she doesn't recognize him and they don't give names so they become close friends until one day* June finds out that Day is actually Day....

I would rate the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and it is part of a trilogy. In my opinion the other books suck and are ⭐️⭐️ since the characters are different but there personality is the same (my opinion). That problem also takes place in the first book since they don't think very differently and the author didn't really bother to make them seem like DIFFERENT people. The plot is very good and it is all written well except for the characters.

This book is about a boy named Nick and his best friend Marta.Nick and Marta unfortunately have the meanest biology teacher in the world and her name is Mrs.Starch.No Mrs.Starch is the meanest teacher in the teacher in the whole entire school.Although there is one kid in Nick and Marta's biology class that is not afraid of Mrs.Starch, and that is Smoke.Smoke is a kid that you don't want to mess with because he can hurt you, you can probably tell by his name.On the day of the grades field trip to the Black Vine Swamp Smoke doesn't show up which wasn't a big deal knowing him. Then a wildfire breaks in the middle of the swamp and the whole grade evacuates,a girl named Libby forgot her inhaler though so Mrs.Starch goes to get it.When Mrs.Starch doesn't show up the next day Nick and Marta set out on a journey to find her and do some pretty crazy things.Read the book to find out if they found Mrs.Starch and if they found out who set the wildfire at the swamp.

I really liked this book because it was very exciting and it was very shocking and adventurous. A thing that I liked about the book was that I couldn't put it down because I just wanted to know what happened next. A thing that I didn't really like about the book was that the author put the story into character's perspective's and it was sometimes hard to keep up what was happening. I recommend this book for people who like books that are so exciting and adventurous and that that can not put down because there so exciting. And a boy or a girl can read this book and on a scale to one to ten I rate the book a nine and a half

I read Fablehaven book #3 Grip of the Shadow Plague

Kendra goes to Lost Mesa to get an artifact to stop the Society from opening the demon prison. Seth finds that his best friend Newel  the satyr has turned dark. Kendra discovers that the artifact got taken to fablehaven. When she comes back to Fablehaven on her first night at home dark Brownies storm the house. They set all sorts of death traps to kill them. They avoid the traps and stop the plague.

I have enjoyed the Fablehaven series. It has a lot of action, mystery, and mythical creatures. I would recommend this boot to anyone who likes action, and fantasy. If you have read any of Brandon Mull's books ( aka Beyonders and The Five Kingdoms ) you will love this book. It is 473 pages long and book 3 in the five book series. It is a perfect sit-down-on-the-beach kind of book.

Wonder, reviewed by anonymous

Carolyn WONDER by: R.J Palacio
Wonder is about a boy named August Pullman. August's sister's name is Via. ( Her real name is Olivia.) August's face doesn't look what people call "normal". It looked like that since he was a baby. This year August is going to school. He was always homeschooled, so he was worried about school.
When school starts nobody likes August and everyone was staring at him and whispering about him.
Read the book to find out what happens to August in school.
I thought it was a really great book. On a scale from one to ten I would rate it a eight or nine. I recommend this book to people who like a little drama and who like a happy ending. Overall, it was a really great book.

This book is about 14 year old wizard, Harry Potter. This year at Hogwarts instead of Quidditch (a sport wizards and witches like to play on brooms) there is a tournament called the Triwizard Tournament. To sign up for the tournament, Harry needed to put his name in the Goblet of Fire (which is a magical registration object) but there is an age limit so Harry cannot put his name in. The Goblet of Fire is used picks three champions to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. The champions are soon picked, but Harry's name comes out as a fourth. And the rest of the story is about Harry trying to survive throughout the tournament, and also trying to find out who put his name in.

I really liked this book and  I would rate it a 10-10 because it was a page turner and I could NOT put it down. I would recommend this book for boys and girls who like fantasy mysteries and action.

Because of Mr. Terupt reviewed by Melanie S

Melanie Sall Rob Buyea

Because of Mr. Terupt

The book I read is because of Mr. Terupt. The book is about a awesome teacher that doesn't get mad if a kid does something bad or talks out of turn. So the class has this award system where they have paper ring that they hang from the ceiling. If the rings reach to the ground they get a free day where they get to do anything they want. So that day came and that went outside and the class trickster threw a snowball and it hit Mr. Terupt. Find out if Mr. T dies or lives by reading the book!

I love the book! I liked this book because it had so much going on always and to me it was easy to get into. I would give this book 4 stars because it was really good, but I didn't like how they would go over some parts of the book a lot because the book is being told by all of the kids. I would recommend this book to someone that doesn't mind a little sadness but not too much.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, Reviewed by Maya

Leo Borlock follows the unspoken rule at Mica Area High School: don't stand out! But when Stargirl arrives at Mica everything changes. After being home schooled all her life, Stargirl bursts into tenth grade in an explosion of color and ukulele music, amazing the students at Mica.

But when Stargirl makes the Mica basketball team lose, she is shunned for everything that makes her different. Somewhere throughout Stargirl's rise and fall in popularity, normal Leo finds himself in love with her.

I loved Stargirl! It really made me want to run into school and go crazy. It inspired me to not care what other people think. I am in 5th grade and found Stargirl a little easy. Maybe a late 4th or early 5th grade book. Stargirl is more of a girl book because, it talks about girls high school drama and self consciousness. I highly recommend Stargirl!

T.S. Spivet, Reviewed by Esmé 5B

Spoiler Alert!

T.S. Spivet is a genius mapmaker. After getting a call telling him to accept an award at the Smithsonian, he journeys from Montana to Washington D.C. Along the way he rides the rails, gets stabbed, and learns a secret about his mother.  To see what happens at the end of the book, highlight to the right of this- it is written in white text. In the end he accepts the award, and goes home with his father. I enjoyed this book a lot.

I liked this book because it was original, interesting, and I didn't want to stop reading it. It isn't really fantasy but at one point there is a wormhole! I would recommend it for people who enjoy really original books. This book was not very hard to read, and I understood it at all times. Overall "The Selected Works Of T.S. Spivet" gets a 9/10.

A Bear Called Paddington

By Michael Bond

Noah Thomas

The book I read was called A BEAR CALLED PADDINGTON, it is about a bear from darkest Peru South America and can talk. He has a funny looking green hat with a red line near the brim that his uncle gave him. The bear had always had his hat and a suitcase with him. He imagrated from darkest Peru. His aunt Lucy always wanted him to imagrated that's when she taught him to speak English. His aunt was in a home for retired bears. So he imagrated all the way by himself. And luckily the Browns found him on Paddington station and he had a tag on him that said " please take care of this bear, thank you." And that was exactly what the Browns did they took care of the little brown bear. They even gave him a name since he was found on PADDINGTON station they gave him the name PADDINGTON. Read the book to find out all the adventures he had with the Browns and all his new experiences in this new land, also all the friends he makes. Also, watch the movie PADDINGTON in theaters.

The rating of the book would be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five stars out of five stars. I would rate the movie a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five star out of five stars. I would recommend this book to people who like colorful books. The book has no colors in it but the text is cheerful and fun and nice. I recommend this book to both genders and all kinds. What I liked about the book was that it was a fun book and also I could relate to the bass and the surroundings because I went to London over winter break. My favorite part was when he gets found on PADDINGTON Station and was founded by the Brown family.
